Prometheus was originally titled Bringing Fire (Prometheus of Wall Street). It is a faithful musicalization of the complete text of Aeschylus’ Prometheus Unbound.

The piece was workshopped under that title (thanks to a Tyrone Guthrie award from the Stratford Festival in Canada) in June 2013 at 440 Lafayette with Paul Pontrelli as Prometheus. At the time it was intended to promote discussion about the commitment to change required for progress to be made. Though Occupy Wall Street was about economics primarily, the timelessness of the original source material could be applied to many other struggles. A complete demo of the score exits upon request.
