The Earthquake was co-written with Bruno Uribe and is based on Shakespeare’s The Tempest. There are 6 actors (4 women, 2 men – one of the men is primarily a dance role) 1 set, 90 minutes. Prospera has trapped the current ‘la presidenta’ of an unspecificed country underground by using magical powers to bring about an earthquake. Prospera’s desire is to force her political rival to acknowledge the corruptness of their country’s politics. The son of la presidenta, Ferdinad is also trapped underground and believed to be dead. Felipte Beltran as Ferdinand sings “I Never Once Thought.”
